Transparent, Simple Operation for your Wireless LAN

New in FRITZ!OS

Better overview in the WLAN area and comprehensive security information

The latest FRITZ!OS provides a clearer overview in the WLAN area. The overview of your wireless devices on the central security page is new, and presents all the important details on your radio networks and registered devices. What is more, the name of your radio network now appears directly on the home page of the user interface, as does easy access to the wireless LAN guest access.

Create a private hotspot even faster

Do you already use the private hotspot for your guests? Now this feature can be configured even faster! This lets your visitors connect their devices with the Internet using your wireless LAN, while protecting access to your home network. By default your guests are only allowed to surf and mail. What is more, you can also request push mail to notify you about all wireless devices registering with and deregistering from your guest access.

All registered wireless devices at a glance

It is even easier to get an overview of all the details on your registered wireless devices. The "WLAN" section of the user interface shows the current data rates for uploading and downloading, the Wireless standard, and the frequency band and channel bandwidth used on the device. Click the "Edit" button to view lots of additional information.

Safe, convenient connections with the wireless LAN

The FRITZ!Box is already known for its easy operation, and the latest FRITZ!OS makes it even easier: The wireless LAN guest access now has its own "Start WPS" button. This makes it convenient for your guests to enjoy a secure WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) connection with your FRITZ!Box's own private hotspot and thus with the Internet.

To optimize your wireless LAN performance, you can now click "Refresh" to trigger a new automatic channel selection manually.

Integrating mobile devices using QR code

The new FRITZ!OS is tailored to support the increased numbers of mobile devices in the home network: With the lastest FRITZ!OS, it is even easier to integrate your smartphone or tablet into the wireless LAN of the FRITZ!Box. Just use the printable QR code available directly in the user interface under "WLAN". The connection is especially easy to establish using the FRITZ!App WLAN.
