On the "Call Diversion" page you can configure a new call diversion or edit a call diversion setting that is already configured.

Setting Up a New Call Diversion Setting

Overview

Setting up call diversion comprises several steps:

  • Speciy which calls are diverted (for instance, all calls or calls from a certain person)
  • Specify a destingation to which calls are to be diverted (for instance, a telephone number or answering maching)
  • Specify the outgoing call number via which the calls are diverted
  • Define the kind of call diversion (for instance, immediately or after 20 seconds)

Rules

  • In total you can configure 32 of the following types of call diversion and call blocks: Call diversion for "Calls from a person in the telephone book", call diversions for "Calls from a telephone number" and call blocks for incoming calls.

Instructions: Defining Which Incoming Calls Should Be Diverted

  1. Select "Telephony / Call Handling / Call Diversion".
  2. Click on "New Call Diversion".
  3. Depending on which calls are to be diverted, configure the following settings:

Instructions: Defining an External Telephone Number as the Destination

You can specify an external number (a different telephone line, a mobile telephone number) as the destination number:

  1. Enable the "Destination telephone number" option.
  2. Enter the external telephone number.

Instructions: Defining a FRITZ!Box Answering Machine as the Destination

You can specify an internal answering machine on the FRITZ!Box as a destination:

  1. Enable the option "Divert calls to internal answering machine".

    If the option is not available, configure an answering machine under "Telephony / Answering Machine".

  2. Select an answering machine from the list.

Instructions: Specifying a Device as the Destination

You can specify a connected device (telephone, answering machine, fax) as the destination:

  1. Enable the "Destination telephone number" option.
  2. Enter the internal number of a terminal device; see "Telephone Book / Internal Numbers". Enter the number without asterisks **, for instance 620 instead of **620.

Instructions: Defining the Outgoing Telephone Number

  1. For "Outgoing caller ID", select the option "automatically" or select a telephone number:

For call diversion to an external number (a different telephone line, a mobile telephone number), the FRITZ!Box attempts to set up the call diversion in the telephone provider's exchange.

For call diversion to be set up in the telephone provider's exchange, the following requirements must be met:

  • The option "Calls to a telephone number / telephone" is enabled and a telephone number is selected.
  • The "Type of call diversion" is set to "Immediately", "Delayed" or "When busy"
  • No dialing rules or blocking rule has been configured in the FRITZ!Box for the destination number
  • Your telephone provider supports the configuration of call diversion at its exchange
Telephone Number

Call diversion is performed in the FRITZ!Box. The FRITZ!Box accepts a call and establishes a second connection to divert the call to the destination telephone number.

For call diversion to an external telephone number, the second connection is estabished using the number for outgoing calls.

For external call diversion to an external telephone number, the following requirement must be met if calls to the outgoing telephone number are to be diverted as well:

  • The outgoing telephone number is an ISDN telephone number or an internet telephone number (VoIP telephone number, telephone number on the IP-based line), via which two concurrent connections are possible

Instructions: Defining the Type of Call Diversion

  1. Select the desired "Type of Call Diversion":

Immediately Incoming calls are diverted immediately. Your telephone does not ring.
Delayed Your telephone rings for an incoming call. If you do not accept the call, it will be diverted after 20 seconds.
Long delay Like "Delayed", but the call is not diverted until after 40 seconds.
When busy An incoming call is diverted only if your telephone number/your telephone is currently busy.
Parallel call In a parallel call, two telephones ring at the same time. The calls are signaled simultaneously on the telephone that was called, and on the line you entered as the "Destination telephone number".

The following additional options are available for alls to a telephone connected to the "FON 1" or "FON 2" socket:

Delayed/When busy An incoming call is diverted immediately when the line is busy. If your telephone number/your telephone is not busy, you have 20 seconds to take the call. After 20 seconds the call is diverted.
When Do Not Disturb is enabled An incoming call is diverted if Do Not Disturb is currently enabled for your telephone.
Direct call

When you lift the handset of your telephone, after 30 seconds a connection to the destination number is established automatically.

Within these 30 seconds you can make telephone calls and dial any telephone numbers just as always.

Never The call diversion is switched off. Incoming calls are not diverted.
