In the FRITZ!Box you can set up call diversion for incoming calls.

Setting Up a New Call Diversion Setting

Rules

  • You can configure a total of 32 of the following types of call rules: Call diversion for calls from a person in the telephone book, call diversions for calls from a certain telephone number, and call blocks for incoming calls.

Instructions: Setting Up Call Diversion

  1. Select "Telephony / Call Handling / Call Diversion".
  2. Click on "New Call Diversion".
  3. Specify which calls should be diverted:
    Which calls should be diverted?Settings
    All calls Enable "all calls".
    Calls for a telephone connected to an analog extension of the FRITZ!Box Enable "Calls to" and select the telephone.
    Calls for a certain telephone number Enable "Calls to" and select the telephone number.
    Calls from a particular person from the telephone book Enable "Calls from", select "person in the telephone book", and select the person.
    Calls from all persons in the telephone book Enable "Calls from", select "telephone book", and select the telephone book.
    Calls from a particular telephone number Enable "Calls from", select "telephone number" and enter the telephone number.
    Calls without a telephone number (anonymous calls) Enable "Calls from" and select "without telephone number (anonymous)".

    Also define whether the call diversion should apply to all anonymous calls ("to all telephone numbers") or only for certain calls.

     

  4. Under "Divert calls to:", define where the calls are diverted:
    Divert to where?Settings
    external number (a different telephone line, a mobile telephone number) Enable "to destination call number". Select a telephone number from a telephone book or select "not in telephone book" and enter either a telephone number.
    internal FRITZ!Box answering machine Enable "To answering machine" and select an answering machine.
    a device (telephone, answering machine, fax) connected to the FRITZ!Box Enable "to telephone" and select a device.
  5. Under "Telephone number for diversion", specify the telephone number that will be used to divert the calls:

    Automatic For call diversion to an external number, the FRITZ!Box attempts to set up the call diversion in the telephone provider's exchange.

     

    Call diversion can be set up in the telephone provider's exchange if the following requirements are met:
    Under "Calls to be diverted", the option "Calls to" is enabled and a telephone number is selected.
    The "Type of call diversion" is set to "Immediately", "Delayed" or "When busy".
    No dialing rules or blocking rule has been configured in the FRITZ!Box for the destination number.
    Your telephone provider supports the configuration of call diversion at its exchange.
    Telephone number

    For call diversion to an external telephone number, the outgoing connection is established using the selected number.

    Call diversion is performed in the FRITZ!Box.

     

    For call diversion to an external telephone number, the following requirement must be met if calls for the selected telephone number are to be diverted as well:
    Two concurrent connections are possible via the selected telephone number.
  6. Define the kind of call diversion.
  7. Click on "OK".

Type of Call Diversion

The following options are available for the type of call diversion:

Type of Call DiversionFunction
Immediately Incoming calls are diverted immediately. Your telephone does not ring.
Delayed Your telephone rings for an incoming call. If you do not accept the call, it will be diverted after 20 seconds.
Long delay Like "Delayed", but the call is not diverted until after 40 seconds.
When busy An incoming call is diverted only if your telephone number/your telephone is currently busy.
Parallel call In a parallel call, two telephones ring at the same time. The calls are signaled simultaneously on the telephone that was called, and on the line you entered as the "Destination call number".

The following additional options are available for calls to a telephone connected to the "FON" socket:

Delayed/When busy An incoming call is diverted immediately when the line is busy. If your telephone number/your telephone is not busy, you have 20 seconds to take the call. After 20 seconds the call is diverted.
When Do Not Disturb is enabled An incoming call is diverted if Do Not Disturb is currently enabled for your telephone.
Direct call

When you lift the handset of your telephone, after 30 seconds a connection to the destination number is established automatically.

Within these 30 seconds you can make telephone calls and dial any telephone numbers just as always.

Never Call diversion is switched off. Incoming calls are not diverted.
