Configuring Additional Protection for MyFRITZ! Account

On the MyFRITZ!Net portal (www.myfritz.net) you can figure two-factor authentication as additional protection for your MyFRITZ! account. The following methods are available:

  • Confirmation with one-time password
Authenticate by entering a one-time password generated with the Google Authenticator. You can also use any other app that supports login via one-time passwords (TOTP).
  • Confirmation with personal authentication
The personal authentication can be in the form of a fingerprint or facial recognition. For confirmation you also need a USB security key. The USB security key is a physical device you can purchase at retail stores. You must set up the security key on your computer before use. Help on setting up the USB security key is included in the documentation of your operating system.

You can remove the additional protection for your MyFRITZ! account in the "Internet / MyFRITZ! Account" menu in the FRITZ!Box user interface.

Requirements

  • For confirmation with the one-time password: Access to a mobile device with the Google Authenticator app installed, or another app that supports login via one-time passwords (TOTP).
  • For confirmation through personal authentication: Security key on a USB media device.
