Automatic Search for Updates

This service automatically searches the AVM web pages for firmware updates for your FRITZ!Box at regular intervals. When a new firmware for your FRITZ!Box is found, you will be notified in the upper area of the "Overview" page.

Note:Updates are not installed automatically. Start an update by clicking the link "The latest firmware is not installed: Update?" on the "Overview" page with the mouse, or in the "System / Firmware Update" menu.

FRITZ!Box searches for updates periodically

During the search for firmware updates, device-specific data such as the current firmware version of your FRITZ!Box is transmitted to AVM. This is required to determine the appropriate update for your FRITZ!Box model and firmware version.

Enable this setting if you would like an automatic search for firmware updates for your FRITZ!Box.

When www.avm.de is opened, AVM may read device-specific data from your FRITZ!Box.

In addition to the appropriate firmware update, the FRITZ!Box can also search for further downloads on offer for your FRITZ!Box model. For instance, FRITZ!AddOns for your web browser, FRITZ!Apps for your smartphone or software for the use of FRITZ!Box parental controls on computers with multiple Windows user accounts. For this device-specific data must be read from your FRITZ!Box.

Enable this setting if you would like an automatic search for further download offers for your FRITZ!Box.

When reading device-specific data, no data related to the persons or users are read.

Error Reports

In the case of an error, this service logs relevant information and automatically sends an error report to AVM. The error report helps improve the stability of the firmware.

Note:Every time an error report is sent, the message "An error message was sent." appears in the user interface in the "System / Events / All" menu.

Automatically send error reports to AVM

If you would like error reports to be sent to AVM automatically, leave this setting enabled.

The error report does not contain any data related to persons or users.

Do not send error reports

If you would not like error reports to be sent to AVM automatically, enable this setting.
