For security reasons, the NetBIOS filter in the FRITZ!Box is on by default. It blocks NetBIOS packets, which are usually not required for communication in the internet. The setting for the NetBIOS filter is located under "Internet / Filters / Lists / Global Filter Settings".

You can disable the NetBIOS filter for the VPN connection between two networks (LAN-to-LAN linkup and company VPN connection). Then the NetBIOS filter is canceled only for the VPN connection.

1. Click on "Internet" in the user interface of the FRITZ!Box.
2. Click on "Permit Access".
3. Select the "VPN" tab.
4. Select from the "VPN Connections between the FRITZ!Box and Other Networks" list the VPN connection for which you want to change the setting.
5. Click on the button to edit the VPN configuration.
6. On the "VPN Connection" page, click on "Advanced Settings for Network Traffic".
7. Enable the setting "Allow NetBIOS over this connection".
8. Click on "OK".
