Troubleshooting Malfunctions while Establishing WPA3 Connections

If problems occur after switching the FRITZ!Box to "WPA2 + WPA3", attempt to solve these by consulting the following table.

Troubleshooting Chart

A wireless device (for instance, smartphone, tablet, laptop printer) no longer connects to the FRITZ!Box. Apple device with an iOS/iPadOS older than versionĀ 13 Switch back to WPA mode "WPA2" in the FRITZ!Box.
The wireless device has problems using "Protected Management Frames (PMF, 802.11w)".

Switch back to WPA mode "WPA2" in the FRITZ!Box.

All connections in WPA mode "WPA2 + WPA3" require the use of PMF.

The Wi-Fi connection is still encrypted with only WPA2. The Wi-Fi connection was established with WPS.

To configure the Wi-Fi connection, enter the network key and do not use WPS.

WPS cannot be used to establish WPA3 connections.

The Wi-Fi connection must be reconfigured for WPA3. Delete the old Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box on the wireless device and set up a new Wi-Fi connection.
