Configuring a user account
In a FRITZ!Box user account you define for a certain FRITZ!Box user which contents of the FRITZ!Box the given user is allowed to access, and whether this access must take place from the home network or is also permitted from the Internet.
To save the entries for a user account, click "OK" at the bottom of the page.
Users
In this area you enable a FRITZ!Box user and assign data for a user to log in from the home network and the Internet.

This setting must be selected for the user account to be enabled for this FRITZ!Box user so that this user - depending on the defined access rights - can access information and services on the FRITZ!Box. The user currently logged in can not disable his own user account. |

Note:We recommend entering an e-mail address. Then each user can opt to log in to the FRITZ!Box using his e-mail address or his user name.
Access from the Internet
When the "Access from the Internet" setting is enabled, you permit a user to access information and services on the FRITZ!Box (MyFRITZ!, fritz.box, fritz.nas) from the Internet. No additional passwords will be requested.
Rights
Rights are assigned cumulatively: The more rights you assign for a user, the more information and services on the FRITZ!Box are available to this user.
FRITZ!Box Configuration
This right allows a user to view and edit all FRITZ!Box settings.
If the "Access from the Internet" option is also enabled, this user can also configure and manage the FRITZ!Box from the Internet.
Note:The user currently logged in cannot revoke his right to configure the FRITZ!Box.
Voice messages, faxes, FRITZ!App Fon and call list
This right allows a user to listen to voice messages and to view the call list and received faxes. All FRITZ!App Fon functions can be used in the home network.
If the "Access from the Internet" option is also enabled, this user can also access this information from the Internet.
Access to NAS contents
This right grants a user access to all of the memory available on the FRITZ!Box:
- internal memory
- connected USB storage media
- online storage
If the "Access from the Internet" option is also enabled, this user can also access the memory (NAS) from the Internet.
Storage (NAS) Rights
For access to memory (NAS) contents, you have to assign each user a directory and grant him the corresponding rights:
- Click the "Add Directory" button.
- Choose between the following settings:
All storage available on the FRITZ!Box This setting allows a FRITZ!Box user to access all of the memory available on the FRITZ!Box and all of the directories in this memory. Select Folder With this setting you can restrict a user's access to a certain storage medium and to a certain folder there.
You can specify one directory for each FRITZ!Box user. This folder can contain sub-folders.
- If you select the "Choose directory" setting, in the next window you must specify which directory on one of the storage media the FRITZ!Box user is allowed to access.
- Confirm your entries by clicking "OK".
- Now assign rights for the shared directory. The FRITZ!Box differentiates between the authorization levels "read" and "read and write".
Read Users can view the contents of a folder and open files and folders. read and write Users can create new files and folders and make changes to existing files and folders. - Click the "OK" button to save your settings.
This concludes the configuration of a new user.
