Saving and Restoring a Telephone Book
You can save a local telephone book in a file. With this file you can restore the telephone book in the same FRITZ!Box or transfer it to another FRITZ!Box.
Saving a Telephone Book
Telephone books are saved in XML files.
Instructions: Saving a Telephone Book
- Select "Telephony / Telephone Book".
- Select a telephone book.
- Click "Save" and save the XML file on your computer.
- One after the other, save each of the telephone books stored in the FRITZ!Box.
Restoring a Telephone Book
You can restore the telephone book in the same FRITZ!Box or transfer it to another FRITZ!Box.
Rules
- Restoring the saved telephone book overwrites a telephone book in the FRITZ!Box. For this you can create a new, empty telephone book in the FRITZ!Box.
- A saved telephone book can contain quick-dial numbers, vanity codes, and "important persons". If you would like to keep this information, the telephone book must be restored in the FRITZ!Box's first telephone book.
Instructions: Restoring a Telephone Book
- Select "Telephony / Telephone Book".
- Select the telephone book that is to be overwritten by restoring a saved telephone book.
Important:All entries in the selected telephone book will be overwritten.
- Click on the "Restore" button.
- Click "Select File" to choose the saved telephone book (XML file).
- Click the "Restore Telephone Book" button.
