Configuring Switching by Sound
Security Advice
- Do not switch any important electrical devices with the "Clapping / Knocking" setting (for instance alarm systems or emergency calls)! Many everyday sounds are similar to clapping and knocking. Even sounds like coughing, sneezing, vacuum cleaners and other devices could trigger switching.
Clapping/Knocking (Twice in Quick Succession)
If switching by clapping/knocking does not work reliably, try out various settings for "Sensitivity / Volume".
Freely configurable sound
If you select the "Freely configurable sound" option, you can specify the frequency range of the triggering sound as anywhere between 125 Hz (lower tones) and 4 kHz (high tones). Sounds in other frequencies will be ignored.
Under "Duration" you can specify how long the volume specified for "Sensitivity / Volume" has to be above or below the configured volume before switching is triggered. This volume is then observed over the entire period and does not have to be above or below the configured value for the entire period.
