Internet / Permit Access / DynDNS

DynDNS (Dynamic DNS) is an internet service that makes it possible for the FRITZ!Box to remain accessible from the internet at all times under a fixed name, although the public IP address of the FRITZ!Box changes each time you dial into the internet.

In order to use this service, you must register with a DynDNS provider. When you register, you arrange for the fixed name (domain name) at which your FRITZ!Box should be accessible from the internet. You also define a username and password.

Every time it dials into the internet, FRITZ!Box transmits its current IP address to the DynDNS provider in the form of an update request. Then the domain name is assigned to the current IP address by the DynDNS provider.
