Operating FRITZ!NAS

In the FRITZ!NAS interface the contents of all of the storage media of the FRITZ!Box are displayed, including connected USB storage devices, internal memory and configured online storage.

You can start FRITZ!NAS in any web browser. Just enter fritz.nas in the address field of your web browser.

All functions needed to manage the folders and contents of your storage media are available in the FRITZ!NAS toolbar.

The FRITZ!NAS Toolbar

Icon	Action
	Cuts out an object. Select a folder or a file and then click "Cut". The object is cut out and can be moved to another location by clicking "Paste".
	Inserts an object. To paste an object you cut out from another location, select the target folder and click "Paste".
	Deletes and object. Select a folder or a file and then click "Delete". The selected object is deleted.
	Allows you to change the name of an object. Select a folder or a file and then click "Rename". You can assign a new name.
	Creates a new folder. Click this icon to create a new folder.
	Refreshes the view. Click this icon to refresh the view.
	Copies files from your own device (e.g. computer) to a FRITZ!Box storage medium. Click this icon and select the file to be copied from your own device (e.g. computer) to a FRITZ!Box storage medium.
	Copies files from FRITZ!Box memory to your own device (e.g. computer). Select a folder or a file and then click this icon. The selected object is copied from a FRITZ!Box storage medium to your own device.
	Releases a file or folder for sharing with other users. Select a folder or a file and then click "Permit Access to File or Folder". The "Permit Access" menu displays a link which you can copy and send to other users. The recipients then have access to the shared object.

Note:This function is available only if your FRITZ!Box can be reached from the Internet. To do this, set up a MyFRITZ! account or enable HTTPS remote access under "Internet / Permit Access / FRITZ!Box Services" and log in to the FRITZ!Box with your user name. If you have not set up a user, then the password "ftpuser" or "ftpuser-internet" can be used to access the FRITZ!Box.

Instructions for Using FRITZ!NAS

When using FRITZ!NAS, please note the following:

• Depending on the functions available in your web browser, you may be able to copy multiple files to the FRITZ!Box at the same time. A current web browser is required for this function, one that supports the HTML5 web standard.
• Depending on the functions available in your web browser, you may be able to upload entire folders to the FRITZ!Box. Currently this function is supported only by the Google Chrome browser.
• Use the "Remove Safely" option to remove a USB storage device from the FRITZ!Box. To do this, open the "Overview" page and click "remove" in the "Interfaces / USB" area. The USB storage device will be removed safely to avoid any loss of data.
