Configuring a FRITZ!Box as an IP Client via Wi-Fi under "Network Settings"
- Select "Home Network / Network / Network Settings".
- Select the "via LAN" option.
- Insert a network cable into one of the the LAN ports (yellow) on the FRITZ!Box.
Note:You can also use the "WAN" port as a LAN port. Note the following: For the "WAN" connection, you must change the "WAN Setting" under "Home Network / Network / Network Settings" such that the WAN port works as a LAN port.
- Insert the other end into a network socket on the other router.
- Click on "Change connection settings".
- Specify how the FRITZ!Box is to receive its IP settings:
- Select "Obtain the IP address automatically (DHCP)" if the FRITZ!Box is to receive its IP settings from the other router. Enter the DHCP host name of router in the "DHCP hostname" field. Leave the field empty if you do not know the name.
- Select "Configure the IP address manually" if the FRITZ!Box is to receive a fixed IP address. Enter the IP address and the other IP settings in the appropriate fields.
- Click on "Apply".
