Configuring Call Blocks for Outgoing Calls

Call blocks for outgoing calls prevent the dialing of certain telephone numbers. For instance, you can block connections to premium numbers that incur high fees.

Setting Up Call Blocks

You can set up the following call blocks for outgoing calls:

Telephone numbers within the specified range of numbers (for instance, 030 for the Berlin area code) can no longer be called from the FRITZ!Box.

Individual telephone numbers from blocked ranges can be excepted from the block.

Preconfigured range of telephone numbers Telephone numbers within the selected range of numbers can no longer be called from the FRITZ!Box.

Prescribed Ranges of Telephone Numbers

The prescribed number ranges include the following telephone numbers:

  • Range for directory assistance
  • Emergency numbers will be blocked if you do not have a landline. In order to be able to reach emergency numbers, create dialing rules for all emergency numbers.

  • Telephone numbers starting with 0
  • Mobile network, international numbers, intercontinental numbers, premium number ranges

  • All telephone numbers starting with 00
  • Intercontinental number range

Instructions: Blocking a Telephone Number

  1. Select "Telephony / Call Handling / Call Blocks".
  2. Click on "New Rule".
  3. Select "outgoing calls" as the type of call, and then "Telephone number" in the "Number range".
  4. Enter a complete telephone number.
  5. Enter a name. This name appears in the call list of the FRITZ!Box.
  6. Click on "OK".

Instructions: Blocking a Range of Telephone Numbers

  1. Select "Telephony / Call Handling / Call Blocks".
  2. Click on "New Rule".
  3. Select "outgoing calls" as the type of call.
  4. Select a prescribed range of telephone numbers or select the "Telephone number" number range and define a range of telephone numbers. Do this by entering one or more numerals (for instance, 030 for the local network in Berlin).
  5. Enter a name. This name appears in the call list of the FRITZ!Box.
  6. Click on "OK".

Excepting Individual Numbers from Blocked Ranges

You can except individual numbers that are located in a range of telephone numbers that is blocked for outgoing calls.

Example

You set up a call block for outgoing calls to all mobile telephone networks. But your own mobile telephone number is to remain reachable via the FRITZ!Box.

Instructions: Excepting a Telephone Number for Outgoing Calls

Define a dialing rule for the number to be excepted:

  1. Select "Telephony / Call Handling / Dialing Rules".
  2. Click on the "New Dialing Rule" button.
  3. Select the "Telephone number" entry under "Number range".
  4. Enter the telephone number to be excepted.
  5. Select a telephone number for "Connect via"
  6. Click on "OK".
