If problems occur after switching the FRITZ!Box to "WPA2 + WPA3", attempt to solve these by consulting the following table.
Troubleshooting Chart
Malfunction | Cause | Remedy |
---|---|---|
A wireless device (for instance, smartphone, tablet, laptop printer) no longer connects to the FRITZ!Box. | Apple device with an iOS/iPadOS older than versionĀ 13 | Switch back to WPA mode "WPA2" in the FRITZ!Box. |
The wireless device has problems using "Protected Management Frames (PMF, 802.11w)". | Switch back to WPA mode "WPA2" in the FRITZ!Box. All connections in WPA mode "WPA2 + WPA3" require the use of PMF. | |
The Wi-Fi connection is still encrypted with only WPA2. | The Wi-Fi connection was established with WPS. | To configure the Wi-Fi connection, enter the network key and do not use WPS. WPS cannot be used to establish WPA3 connections. |
The Wi-Fi connection must be reconfigured for WPA3. | Delete the old Wi-Fi connection to the FRITZ!Box on the wireless device and set up a new Wi-Fi connection. |
