Configuring and Using the View Live Image Feature

Overview

With the "live image" feature, whenever the door intercom system is called you can view the system's camera image on your FRITZ!Fon

Requirements

  • FRITZ!Fon with color display (MT-F, C4 or newer)
  • The camera of the door intercom system records images in JPG/JPEG, PNG or GIF file format.
  • The camera makes the images available via FTP or HTTP without authentication (HTTPS is not supported).

Rules

  • You can zoom in the camera image on the FRITZ!Fon. For this the camera resolution should be set to at least 640 x 480 pixels, because zooming is extremely computation-intensive at lower resolutions. On many door intercom systems you can set the resolution directly or via the camera's address (URL).

Instructions: Setting Up a Live Image

  1. Select "Telephony / Telephony Devices" and then click on the "Edit" button next to your door intercom system.
  2. Enter the address (URL) of the camera image in the "Live image" field. The URL must end with the file format of the image (for example, image.jpg).
  3. Click "OK".

FRITZ!Fon telephones now show the image on the camera of the door intercom system whenever the door intercom system is called.
