Mesh WiFi with FRITZ!
The FRITZ!OS of your FRITZ!Box supports Mesh WiFi with FRITZ!, the new wireless network for your FRITZ! devices (FRITZ!Box, FRITZ!Repeater, FRITZ!Powerline with wireless LAN). In Mesh WiFi it is easier and more convenient for these devices to work together.
New Features in Mesh Wi-Fi
- All FRITZ! devices can adopt the wireless LAN settings of the FRITZ!Box. These are: radio network name (SSID), radio channel, network key (wireless LAN password), wireless guest access and wireless switching schedule. New in the Mesh Wi-Fi: If you change these settings in the FRITZ!Box, the new settings will automatically be applied to all FRITZ! devices in the Mesh Wi-Fi.
- The new Home Network Overview in the user interface shows which devices are active, and via which FRITZ device your smartphone, tablet, computer or game console is connected.
- New FRITZ!Powerline devices can also be added with the push of a button on the FRITZ!Box. This makes it easier to add devices when other powerline devices are difficult to reach.
Prerequisites
In order to take advantage of the new features, the following requirements must be met:
- FRITZ!Box with FRITZ!OS version 06.88 or higher
- FRITZ!Repeater with FRITZ!OS version 06.88 or higher, or FRITZ!Powerline device with wireless LAN with FRITZ!OS version 06.88 or higher
