You can use the FRITZ!Box as an answering machine without connecting any additional devices. If you have more than one telephone number, you can set up multiple answering machines (up to 5).

Answering Machine Functions

  • Voice to mail: If desired, you can receive new messages automatically by e-mail.
  • Schedule: For individual days of the week you can specify the times at which the answering machine is switched on.
  • Remote playback: You can check the answering machine from on the go.

Configuring or Editing an Answering Machine

You can configure an answering machine for the first time, or edit the settings of answering machines that are already configured.

Configuring or Editing the First Answering Machine

  1. Click the "Settings" button.
  2. Configure the desired settings. For more information, see the Help page on the answering machine settings.
  3. Click "OK".

Adding a New Answering Machine

If you need more than one answering machine, add another answering machine:

  1. Click on the "Another Answering Machine" link:
  2. Follow the configuration wizard.

Selecting and Editing Answering Machines

If you have more than one answering machine configured and would like to edit the settings of one, proceed as follows:

  1. Select an answering machine:
  2. Click the "Settings" button.
  3. Configure the desired settings. For more information, see the Help page on the answering machine settings.
  4. Click "OK".

Switching the Answering Machine On and Off

  1. To switch an answering machine on or off, click theĀ  switch or .

Messages

Under "Messages" on the "Answering Machine" page you can access your messages. The overview contains the following information and buttons:

The telephone number of the caller or name from the telephone book (if the caller's telephone number was transmitted).

Outgoing Caller ID Telephone number for which the call arrived

Button Listen to and Save Message
Button Delete message
