System / Push Service / Sender

To send push service mails the FRITZ!Box needs an email address as the sender. You can also assign a unique sender name, so that the push service mails sent by the FRITZ!Box can be clearly and quickly identified in your email inbox.

Entering the Push Service Mails Sender

  1. Enter your e-mail address in the "E-mail address" field.

The e-mail address given here as the sender address is important. It does not have to be identical to the e-mail address to which you send the push service mails. Different recipient addresses can be specified for every push service.

  2. Enter the password for your e-mail account.

The FRITZ!Box stores a variety of e-mail providers with information like their SMTP servers.

    • If you have an e-mail account with one of these providers, you do not have to provide additional information about the e-mail user name and server.
    • If you have an e-mail account from such a provider and would like to change the preconfigured settings, follow the instructions under Changing e-Mail Settings for Preconfigured e-Mail Providers".
  3. Enter the user name for the e-mail account specified above in the "E-mail user name" field. Generally your e-mail user name is the same as your e-mail address.
  4. In the "SMTP server" field, enter the name of your provider's e-mail server (SMTP server).

Some SMTP servers do not work on the default port (25). If this is the case for your SMTP server, the port number must be entered in this field.

Example: The name of the SMTP server is smtp.de.post.net and the port number is 599. Enter the following: smtp.de.post.net:599. You receive the name and port number from your e-mail provider.

  5. If the SMTP server you specified supports SSL, enable the option "This server supports a secure connection (SSL)".
  6. Click the "Apply" button.

This concludes entry of the sender data for receiving push service mails.

Testing Push Service

Click the "Test Push Service" button to send a test message and make sure that all settings are correct and that the mail arrives at the specified recipient's address.

Selecting a Different Sender Name

In the FRITZ!Box the preconfigured e-mail sender is the name registered under "Home Network / FRITZ!Box Name". Alternatively, you can assign a unique sender name, so that the push service mails sent by the FRITZ!Box can be clearly and quickly identified in your e-mail inbox.

  • If you would like to use a different sender name, then enter a name of your own in the "Sender name" field.
