Integrating FRITZ! Devices into the Mesh
Integrate all FRITZ! devices that support Wi-Fi into the Mesh of the FRITZ!Box. Mesh combines the individual Wi-Fi networks into a single powerful Wi-Fi network.
The FRITZ!Box is the hub of the Mesh, the Mesh Master. The other FRITZ! devices (Mesh Repeaters) adopt the Wi-Fi network settings from the FRITZ!Box, for instance, account information, guest access, and schedule.
Integrating a FRITZ! Device into the Mesh
FRITZ! devices in the Mesh are displayed in the "Mesh Overview" of the FRITZ!Box (under "Home Network / Mesh" in the user interface) with the Mesh icon:

Devices that are not marked with this icon can be integrated into the Mesh in a few steps.
Instructions: Integrating FRITZ!Repeater into the Mesh
- Check whether the "Perform Update" button is available next to the FRITZ!Repeater in the "Mesh Overview".
- If an update is available, start the update. Wait until the message "Update was successful" appears.
If no update is available, continue with the next step.
- Press the button on the FRITZ!Repeater briefly.
- Press the "Connect/WPS" button on the FRITZ!Box briefly.
Instructions: Integrating FRITZ!Powerline into the Mesh
- Check whether the "Perform Update" button is available next to FRITZ!Powerline in the "Mesh Overview".
- If an update is available, start the update. Wait until the message "Update was successful" appears.
If no update is available, continue with the next step.
- On FRITZ!Powerline 1260E: Press the "Connect" button briefly.
On FRITZ!Powerline 1240E / 546E / 540E: Press the "WLAN/WPS" button briefly.
- Press the "Connect/WPS" button on the FRITZ!Box briefly.
Instructions: Integrating Another FRITZ!Box (Configured as a Mesh Repeater) into the Mesh
- Check whether the "Perform Update" button is available next to the other FRITZ!Box (Mesh Repeater) in the "Mesh Overview".
- If an update is available, start the update. Wait until the message "Update was successful" appears.
If no update is available, continue with the next step.
- On this FRITZ!Box (Mesh Master): Press the "Connect/WPS" button briefly.
The "Connect/WPS" LED flashes. Other LEDs may also flash.
- On the other FRITZ!Box (Mesh Repeater): Press the connect button for the duration listed in the table:
