Using Telephony in the Mesh

You can use the "Telephony in the Mesh" function if you have more than one FRITZ!Box that supports Mesh in your home network.

Overview

With the "Telephony in the Mesh" function you only have to configure your telephone numbers in one FRITZ!Box (Mesh Master). Then you can simply adopt the numbers automatically and use them on every other FRITZ!Box in the Mesh.

Requirements

  • Your telephone numbers are registered in the FRITZ!Box that is configured as the Mash Master.
  • All FRITZ!Box devices on which you would like to adopt the telephone numbers are configured as Mesh Repeaters.

No Automatic Switching between FRITZ!Boxes

DECT cordless telephones like FRITZ!Fon will not automatically switch to a different FRITZ!Box when they change location. This applies even if telephony is configured in the Mesh.

Note:You can register your FRITZ!Fon with multiple FRITZ!Boxes, and then switch among FRITZ!Boxes as needed in the FRITZ!Fon menu.
