In the FRITZ!Box you can use a call list.

Overview

Overview

The call list contains telephone calls, messages on the FRITZ!Box answering machine, and faxes received. In the call list you can:

  • Save or block telephone numbers
  • Play back and save messages
  • Open and save faxes
  • Save the call list to a file

Icons for Calls

The following icons designate the various kinds of calls:

 Incoming call Incoming call
 Missed call

Missed call

Incoming call that was not picked up.

 

Rejected call

The call was rejected by pressing a button on the telephone or automatically through a call block.

Saving or Blocking Telephone Numbers

Overview

You can save telephone numbers from the call list in the telephone book, or block them for incoming calls.

Instructions: Saving a Telephone Number in the Telephone Book

  1. Click on the button next to the desired telephone number.
  2. Select the "Telephone Book" option.
  3. If multiple telephone books are set up, then select a telephone book.
  4. Click on "Next".
  5. Select "create as new" for a new telephone book entry, or select an existing telephone book entry.
  6. Click on "Next".
  7. Click in the telephone book entry on "Add" next to an empty telephone number field, or on "Replace" next to an existing telephone number.
  8. Click on "OK".

Instructions: Blocking a Telephone Number

  1. Click on the button next to the desired telephone number.
  2. Select the "Call Blocks" option.
  3. Click on "Next".

The telephone number is entered in the list of telephone numbers blocked for incoming calls. The list is found under "Telephony / Call Handling / Call Blocks".

Playing Back and Saving Messages

Overview

In the call list you can play back and save messages on the FRITZ!Box answering machine.

Instructions: Playing Back a Message

  1. Click on the button next to the desired call.

Instructions: Saving a Message

  1. Click on the button next to the desired call with the right mouse button.
  2. Select the "Save destination to..." or "Save link to..." (or something similar) in the context menu.

Opening and Saving Faxes

Overview

In the call list you can open and save received faxes.

  1. Click on the button next to the desired call.

  1. Click on the button next to the desired message with the right mouse button.
  2. Select the "Save destination to..." or "Save link to..." (or something similar) in the context menu.

Saving the Call List

Overview

You can save the list of all calls as a CSV file. CSV files can be opened in spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice.org Calc.

Instructions: Saving a Call List

  1. Click on the "Save" button under the call list.

"Type" Column in the CSV File

In the CSV file, the call list contains a "Type" column. The values in this column have the following meaning:

ValueMeaning
1 Incoming call
2 Missed call
3 The call was rejected. At the time the call arrived, Do Not Disturb was enabled in the FRITZ!Box for the caller's telephone number, or you pressed the hang up button on the telephone.
4 Outgoing call
5 Incoming call. The voice call was not over when the call list was saved.
6 Outgoing call. The voice call was not over when the call list was saved.
