Using Telephony in the Mesh
You can use the "Telephony in the Mesh" function if you have more than one FRITZ!Box that supports Mesh in your home network.
Overview
With the "Telephony in the Mesh" function you only have to configure your telephone numbers in one FRITZ!Box (Mesh Master). Then you can simply adopt the numbers automatically and use them on every other FRITZ!Box in the Mesh. The other FRITZ!Box does not have to be connected with the internet connection or the landline.
Requirements
- Your telephone numbers are registered in the FRITZ!Box that is configured as the Mash Master.
- All FRITZ!Box devices on which you would like to adopt the telephone numbers are configured as Mesh Repeaters.
No Automatic Switching between FRITZ!Boxes
DECT cordless telephones like FRITZ!Fon will not automatically switch to a different FRITZ!Box when they change location. This applies even if telephony is configured in the Mesh.
Note:You can register your FRITZ!Fon with multiple FRITZ!Boxes, and then switch among FRITZ!Boxes as needed in the FRITZ!Fon menu.

Disabling Unused Telephone Numbers
After enabling telephony in the Mesh, all of the telephone numbers from the Mesh Master are available in the Mesh Repeater. All calls for these telephone numbers will be signaled on the Mesh Repeater and appear in its call list. This is also true for telephone numbers that are not assigned to any telephone connected to the Mesh Repeater.
If only calls for telephone numbers used on the Mesh Repeater should be signaled, define which telephone numbers are used in the Mesh Master. This will disable the remaining telephone numbers for the Mesh Repeater.
Note:It is not possible to permanently delete telephone numbers in the Mesh Repeater as long as the device is part of the Mesh.
Instructions: Defining Telephone Numbers in the Mesh Master
When telephony in the Mesh is enabled, an IP telephone for the Mesh Repeater is created in the Mesh Master. With this IP telephone you can assign certain telephone numbers (up to 10) to the Mesh Repeater:
- On the Mesh Master: Select "Telephony / Telephony Devices" in the user interface.
- Click the "Edit" button next to the IP telephone of the desired FRITZ!Box (Mesh Repeater).
- Leave the field under "Outgoing Calls" empty. Numbers for outgoing calls are assigned to your telephones in the Mesh Repeater.
