Resetting the Lab Version to the Official FRITZ!OS

If you have a lab version of FRITZ!OS installed, then you can switch back to the official FRITZ!OS from the user interface.

Resetting can be done with or without backing up of your settings. If you would like to reload your settings to your FRITZ!Box after resetting to the official FRITZ!OS, we recommend using the "Reset FRITZ!OS with backup file" option.

Resetting FRITZ!OS with a Backup File

To restore your original settings, select the backup file you created before installing the lab version.

Rules

  • After the settings have been restored, the FRITZ!Box must be restarted.
  • If you restore settings for DECT devices, you have to register the devices with your FRITZ!Box again afterward.

Instructions: Resetting the Lab Version to the Official FRITZ!OS

  1. Open the user interface of your FRITZ! product.
  2. Click on the "System / Update" menu and then select the "FRITZ!OS" tab.
  3. Enable the option "Reset FRITZ!OS with backup file".
  4. Click on "Browse...".
  5. Select the backup file created beforehand and then click "OK".
  6. Enter the password you assigned when saving your settings.
  7. Click on "Reset FRITZ!OS".
  8. Perform the additional confirmation.

The lab version is reset to the official FRITZ!OS and you are routed to the "Overview" page.

Resetting FRITZ!OS without a Backup File

You can also reset the FRITZ!OS without a backup file. In this case, however, the factory settings are restored to the FRITZ!Box.

Requirements

  • The FRITZ!Box is connected to the internet.

Rules

  • All settings you made in the FRITZ!Box are deleted.
  • If you use an individual network key or a special IP configuration, you must change the network settings of your network devices in order to be able to access the FRITZ!Box after performing a reset.
