Convenience Services: MyFRITZ!, Parental Control and Smart Home

New in FRITZ!OS

The latest version of FRITZ!OS has further expanded the convenience services on offer.

You can be notified by e-mail about the telephone numbers that called your home numbers so that no matter where you are, you always know who is trying to reach you. The new diagnostics function assists you when problems with DSL or wireless LAN arise.

In MyFRITZ!, the secure cloud service by AVM that lets you keep control of your data, the functions for FRITZ!NAS, call list and voice messages have been reworked and expanded. The design is simpler, clearer and more functional, and the display adapts automatically to whichever mobile device is accessing the service. It is also easier to reach more devices in the Smart Home with MyFRITZ!.

With the latest FRITZ!OS, the parental control function in the FRITZ!Box has been extended to the guest access as well. This can restrict use of the Internet to only certain services like surfing and e-mail. Also new: There are now standard rules for Internet access which are automatically applied to unknown devices. The online budgets of different devices – for instance, of your child's playstation and notebook – can now be combined in a single profile.

The FRITZ!Box user administration now supports rights for reading and controlling Smart Home devices. This user administration also works hand in hand with the MyFRITZ! service. As before, multiple actuators can be grouped and controlled together. Because the number of switching points that can be configured has been increased from 40 to 100, it is now even easier to optimize the use of Smart Home devices to your needs. What is more, a consumer at a Smart Home device, for instance a television, now can be automatically switched off when its power consumption drops or it goes on standby.
