Creating a New Telephone Book

Proceed as follows to save a new telephone book in the FRITZ!Box:

1. Select "Telephony / Telephone Book".
2. Click the "New Telephone Book" link.
   
3. Enter a name for the new telephone book.
4. Select the "Create as new" option.

   In the default setting the new telephone book is empty. If you would like to transfer the entries from an already existing telephone book, enable the "Copy existing telephone book" setting and select a telephone book.

5. Under "Telephone Assignment", select the FRITZFon cordless telephones with which you would like to use the telephone book.

   The telephone assignment feature is only available for FRITZ!Fon cordless telephones from AVM.

6. Click "OK".

   The new telephone book is created in the FRITZ!Box.

Use the telephone book of an e-mail account

Proceed as follows to use your contacts with Google, 1&1, GMX or Web.de in the FRITZ!Box:

1. Select "Telephony / Telephone Book".
2. Click the "New telephone book" link.
   
3. Enter a name for the new telephone book.
4. Enable the option "Use the telephone book of an e-mail account".
5. Select your e-mail provider.
6. Enter your e-mail address.
7. Enter the password for your e-mail address.
8. Under "Telephone Assignment", specify the cordless FRITZ!Fons with which you would like to use the telephone book.

   The telephone assignment feature is only available for FRITZ!Fon cordless telephones by AVM.

9. Click "OK".

   The entries from the contacts of the e-mail account are available in the FRITZ!Box whenever the message "The update was successful" appears.

10. Click "Next".

    The telephone book is configured.

Synchronizing the Telephone Book of an e-Mail Account

If you set up the contacts of an e-mail account, the telephone book in the FRITZ!Box will be regularly synchronized with your contacts in the Internet. You can also start synchronization at any time with a click of the mouse.

Synchronizing Automatically

Automatic synchronization starts every 24 hours around 00:00. This entails the following:

• New telephone entries you created in the FRITZ!Box or in your contacts in the Internet are adopted by the telephone book at the other location.
• Changes you made to telephone book entries in the FRITZ!Box or in your e-mail account contacts are adopted by the telephone book at the other location.
• Telephone book entries you deleted in your e-mail account's contacts are also deleted in the FRITZ!Box.
• Only if you use Google Contacts: Telephone book entries you deleted in the FRITZ!Box are also deleted from your Google Contacts. For other e-mail providers telephone numbers must always be deleted on the provider's website.

Synchronizing by Mouse Click

1. Select "Telephony / Telephone Book".
3. Click the "Synchronize" .
