Save

On the "Save" page you can save all settings you have configured in your FRITZ!Box to a file that can be stored on your computer's hard drive or on another storage medium.

Advantages of Saving Settings

You can use the backup file with your saved settings to

  • restore the saved settings in your current FRITZ!Box
  • load the saved settings to another FRITZ!Box of the same or a different model.

Saving with Additional Confirmation

To protect your data, saving your personal FRITZ!Box settings is now only possible after assigning a personal password plus a confirmation of the saving procedure. The additional confirmation ensures that these settings can be changed only by users with direct access to the FRITZ!Box at its location.

Rules

  • For additional confirmation by telephone, you can use a DECT cordless telephone, an analog telephone, or an ISDN telephone. IP telephones and smartphones are not suitable for this purpose.

Confirmation by FRITZ!Box Button

The "Confirm" window appears in the user interface. Proceed as follows:

  1. Press briefly on one of the buttons on the FRITZ!Box, for instance the "WLAN" button.
  2. In the "Execution Confirmed" window, click on "OK".

Confirmation by Telephone

The "Confirm" window appears in the user interface. Proceed as follows:

  1. Pick up a telephone that is connected with the FRITZ!Box.
  2. Enter the code displayed in the "Confirm" window, for instance, *10215.
  3. Press the call key on the telephone (or lift the receiver).

    Wait for the acknowledgment tone.

  4. Hang up again.
  5. In the "Execution Confirmed" window, click on "OK".
