Storage (NAS): Security
On this page you define security settings for all storage media available to FRITZ!Box: connected USB storage devices, internal memory, and online storage.
Click on the "Apply" button to save your settings. If you leave the page without saving, all of your changes will be discarded.
Home Network
Password protection for access from the home network
If you would like to protect access to the storage media on the FRITZ!Box, enable the "Password protection for storage (NAS) enabled" option and assign any password you like. The password can be a maximum of 32 characters long.
In assigning a password, remember also to comply with the list of valid characters.
Access rights
The access rights for the connected storage media of the FRITZ!Box are defined here.
- The access rights are valid for all storage media of the FRITZ!Box. It is not possible to assign different access rights for individual storage media.
- The access rights apply on all computers connected with the FRITZ!Box.
read only
The data saved on the storage media can be copied to a folder within the local network. But data from the local network may not be copied to the storage media.
read and write
Data can be copied from the storage media to folders within the local network, and from the local network to the storage media.
