You can even perform a FRITZ!OS update when the FRITZ!Repeater has no internet connection. To do this you can download the file with the latest FRITZ!OS.

Performing an Update with the FRITZ!OS File

Download the FRITZ!OS file for your FRITZ!Repeater and perform the update.

Instructions: Downloading the FRITZ!OS File

  1. On a computer with an internet connection: Enter the following address in the browser: ftp.avm.de/fritzwlan.
  2. Navigate through the following folders: Your FRITZ!Repeater model, your country and "fritz.os".
  3. Download the FRITZ!OS file with the file extension ".image" to the computer.

Loading the FRITZ!OS File

Do not abort the connection between the FRITZ!Repeater and the computer during a firmware update, and do not disconnect them from the power mains! If the firmware update is interrupted, your FRITZ!Repeater may become unusable!

Saving Settings

A prerequisite for loading a new FRITZ!OS file is that your current FRITZ!Repeater settings have been saved in a backup file. Using this file you can restore the settings of your FRITZ!Repeater as needed.

  • Click the "Save Settings" button to save the current settings of your FRITZ!Repeater on your computer and save the export file on your computer.

Browsing

  • Click the "Browse..." button and choose the file with the new FRITZ!OS you already downloaded and saved on your computer.

Starting the Update

  • Click the "Start Update" button. The new FRITZ!OS is transmitted to the FRITZ!Repeater.
